Although some consider the name to be a variant of the biblical Hebrew name Jadon, Jayden is probably simply an invented name whose popularity represents the modern culture, where everything becomes viral quickly.

While Jayden is considered mostly a masculine name, it is relatively popular as a girl's name as well, with its popularity rising from number 868 in 2002 to number 176 last year.
