Anthony
The name Anthony has two separate origins. The first is Roman, most notably used as the family name of Mark Antony, the ruler of Rome (alongside Augustus) and the lover of Cleopatra of Egypt.
The name also comes from the Greek word for flower, anthos, hence the addition of the H to Antony.
The most common shortened version of the name is Tony, but other shortened versions and derivatives include Nino, Antonino, Antonis, Anton, Antoine, and others, including female derivatives in many languages.
